Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)

Trusted by professionals yet learnable by anyone, LivingWorks Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is the only workshop of its kind. Updated continually to reflect new knowledge, LivingWorks ASIST has been empowering people to provide skilled, life-saving interventions for over 35 years

ASIST training is an intensive 2 day face to face only course for care-givers and key community members. It teaches suicide alertness and an easy to remember framework of practical skills to safely initiate, complete and follow-up on a full suicide intervention. We identify ASIST as the ‘Gold’ standard suicide prevention training available

LivingWorks ASIST is proven effective

What will you learn as an ASIST trained first aid caregiver?
  • Be suicide alert – identify people who have thoughts of suicide

Participant materials include a 20-page workbook, wallet card, and stickers. Participants also receive a certificate upon completing the workshop

Who can attend ASIST?

Anyone 16 or older (despite previous training) can learn and use the ASIST model. No previous mental health or suicide prevention experience is necessary.

How much does it cost?

The standard price is £300 PP. Limited funded places are available due to funding from Health Education England, and supported by North East London Training Hub and North East London Health and Care Partnership. Although places are funded, if you fail to attend after registration, a charge of £150 will be enforced.
