North East London Cancer Alliance being supported by North East London Training Hubs is providing virtual training sessions so non-clinical GP practice staff across North East London can improve their awareness and understanding of cervical screening.
The training is provided by Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust.
Learning Outcomes :
Learn about cervical cancer prevention.
How to speak with patients about screening, HPV and the vaccine.
The aim is to help improve their knowledge of the importance of cervical screening
and facilitate conversations with patients.
By providing staff with the education and skills to improve their confidence when engaging
with patients about screening, it is more likely that patients will be able to make an informed
choice, particularly in low participating groups.
This also supports requirements for the PCN DES and quality improvement for screening.
Had a great chat with a patient today (I’m a phlebotomist), she was overdue by two years.
The info you shared at yesterday’s training just rolled off the tongue and she went back to
reception to book it ! (Phlebotomist, November 2020)
When ? Various Dates available from April 2021 Onwards. Each session will be 1.5 Hours.
Participants will need to have access to a private room with audio and video functionality.
Each person who takes the course will be asked to commit to speaking to 8 people about cervical screening.
