NEL Training Hubs are pleased to fund a primary care tailored half day Suicide Prevention course. The course is open to all GPs and wider Primary Care clinical teams can register on the course. The course is interactive and due to the sensitive nature of the content, will only be able to accommodate a maximum of 20 people.
The Connecting with People approach ensures that everyone in distress and at risk of suicide is taken seriously and patients are supported to co-produce a safety plan.
At the end of the training participants will be able to use the clinical resources to enhance their assessment of a patient at risk of suicide using the SAFETool. They will practice triage, assessment and referral skills using a clinical case to facilitate referral to MH services if needed and will know how to co-produce a safety plan
