Day 2 & 4 training will be delivered virtually
Since April 2015 all staff new to Health Care Support Worker roles need to complete the Care Certificate as part of their induction to the new clinical role. This ensures they are aware of the behaviors and competencies expected of them and can provide high quality care. This Care Certificate Programme is delivered by a multi- professional teaching team from General Practice and Community Services.
This programme will cover the following standards:
Standard 9: Mental Health, Dementia and Learning Disabilities
Standard 10: Safeguarding Adults
Standard 11: Safeguarding Children
Standard 14: Handling Information
Please note this training may be delivered online depending on current social distancing rules in the UK.
This course is fully funded for Newham & Tower Hamlets Staff.
Attendees are required to be assessed in practice by an assessor within 12 weeksfollowing completion of the taught course.
Assessors in practice are invited to attend a stand alone assessors training workshop (13:00 – 14:30 on Monday 27th September 2021). This session will cover an introduction to the Care Certificate and provide guidance on how to complete the workbook.
N.B. Assessors must attend this session unless they have previous experience of Care Certificate training assessment. Assistant Practitioners or Practice Nurses are suitable for this role.
Please contact Jacqui Hodgson – jacqui.hodgson5@nhs.net if you have any queries about the role and the training.
