Newham Fellows

Fellowship posts are intended to meet current and future primary care workforce needs, supported locally by Training Hubs within their Integrated Care Systems (ICSs.) In this page you will see all the fellows we have in Newham that are supported through Newham Training Hub.

If you would like to contact any member of the team please email us on nelondon.newhamtraininghub@nhs.net

Dr Petre Jones was an inspirational educator and visionary human. Many of us knew him and still vividly remember the values and legacy he has left behind. For me it is especially important as he set up the training hub which we have now been looking after since, I often think if he would be proud of our direction and work and I really do hope he would be. I know Petre was a champion of equity , education and a coaching approach and we are really priviliged to be able to offer these fellowships.

I really enjoyed my experience on the Fellowship- as not only did it allow me the chance to explore new opportunities, it also helped me keep a nice balance between clinical and non-clinical work.
The Fellowship introduced me to inspiring people and helped open more opportunities.

I have enhanced and developed my leadership skills and communication ability. Organising and charging forum events of the NIIH has helped me widen my network of contacts in Newham, learn about stakeholder engagement and apply theoretical learning from my MA to the hub.

After qualifying as a GP I was keen to put my years of experience in Plastic surgery to good use. The National SPIN fellowship scheme has allowed me to complete my Diploma in Dermatology with QMUL and is supporting me to complete my GPwER portfolio in Dermatology. The fellowship has opened opportunities for all newly qualified GPs to pursue their interest while helping to develop a high quality specialist service in the primary care setting and reduce hospital referrals. I highly recommend the fellowship for all newly qualified GPs looking for their next challenge.

The PG certificate is very interesting and interactive. I am learning concepts and skills I have never come across before developing my leadership, change management and self awareness.

I have learned so much about the community services involved in providing care for children with neuro disabilities. I have already become more confident in the examination and assessment of children. I feel that I have made a good network of friends and colleagues in the child development centre.
