As part of the 16 Days of Action (To end Violence Against Women and Girls), London Black Women’s project and IRIS would like to invite you to our free online events, raising awareness of Domestic abuse and the support available.

25 Nov 1-4pm – Launch of Newham’s 16 Days of Action – Custom House & Canning Town Community Neighbourhood Centre, 18 Rathbone Market, E16 1EH – Celebrate with readings, poetry, workshops and kids’ activities. Light refreshments provided.

28 Nov 11-12.30pm – Online – Sexual exploitation awareness training for professionals – The Alessia Project participants will learn about effective activism strategies and gain valuable insight

28 Nov 3-4pm – Online – Barriers to Immigration for Women – Basic training around the barriers to immigration

28 Nov 12-1pm – Online – The IRIS Programme – Training, support and referral pathways for GPs

30 Nov 1-4pm – Domestic abuse awareness information stall – Newham University Hospital, St Andrew’s Wing, Glen Road E13 8SL – Information, advice and guidance

5 Dec 10-11am – Online Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) training awareness session – Identifying FGM, safeguarding women and referral pathways

5 Dec 12-1pm – The IRIS Programme – Training, support and referral pathways for GPs

5 Dec 11-12pm – Online – Survivor voices – A visual and audio presentation, compiled by survivors

5 Dec 1-2pm – Online – Transport safety session with London Black Womens Project – Women and sexual harassment on public transport – How to report an incident to Transport for London Residents Professionals
