Psychological safety is about fostering“a climate characterized by interpersonal trust and mutual respect in which people are comfortable being and expressing themselves,”according to psychological safety expert, Amy Edmondson, Novartis Professor of Leadership & Management, Harvard Business School, founder of the Fearless Organization and author of The Fearless Organization.

Psychological safety has been shown to increase innovation and boost performance- psychological safety was the signature trait of successful teams, according to research by Harvard. Psychological safety supports continuous learning and improvement of safety risks, contributing to better patient care and staff wellbeing, and enables more inclusive and supportive teamwork. Psychologically safe teams are more likely to be able to access individual, collective and systemic intelligence. They are more likely to learn from failures, hold courageous conversations, and to draw on ‘power with’ rather than ‘power over’, enhancing diversity, inclusion and belonging.

This session will support you and your clients to create the conditions for trust and psychological safety, in and through your coaching or mentoring.
