This training is offered to social care workers, health care workers and mental health professionals in North East London.
This course provides a general overview of trauma and the impacts this has on children and young people. Staff members will develop a general knowledge on the different types of trauma alongside an understanding of traumatic responses and how to manage these. Trainees will develop tools to support children and young people with managing emotional regulation and gain a greater understanding of the impacts of trauma and PTSD on the body, beliefs, and communities. We explore the relationship between trauma & intersectionality, and the benefits of putting words to traumatic events. Staff undertaking this training will gain experience of applying the proven cognitive model of trauma and work tools to theoretical cases.
