20 APRIL 2022
Topic: LEADERSHIP FRAMING IN HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE
SECOND of SIX Leadership sessions. For this one, we really want you to relate the learning so far with your own observed experiences. So please think about this.
On this occasion, we will consider leadership in the specific context of health and social care. We will explore how it is practically experienced in these circumstances; its significance in terms of the work that we come together to seek to get done, and the models and ideas that exist about its practice in this domain. This will also offer an opportunity to assess on the basis of our collective experience the extent to which what is said about leadership in this specific context is seen in the practicalities of our working lives. Hence, we will use a little time to explore the challenge of the “values gap” in organisational life, the notional idea that public statements of values may not always tally with peoples experience of working in that specific context – and so what does that mean for us all as leaders?
